Tara Carrozza 
Director of DLI
Tara is a creative, digital transformation leader in NYC Public Schools, setting the vision and strategy for Digital Learning and Innovation (DLI). Tara leads Artificial Intelligence for the Division of School Leaders, with Curriculum and Instruction, working closely with internal and external partners on safe, ethical, and responsible innovation of AI/GenAI policy and implementation. Tara is a pedagogical and technical subject matter expert, building on her multi-year experience as Director of Citywide Ed Tech in the IT division of NYC. Her primary focus with DLI is: 
  • Leads partnerships, pilots, and innovation for AI & Digital Literacy
  • Oversee AI across the Division of School Leadership and the larger NYCPS system
Yohanna Hailegebriel
Program Manager
Yohanna has a decade of experience in education, including roles with NYCPS, Teachers Pay Teachers,  Girls Who Code, and Fulbright. Her background includes teaching, managing curriculum and instructional programs, leading professional development and strategy. She holds dual Master’s degrees from Columbia University and Relay Graduate School of Education.
Yohanna’s primary focus with DLI is:
  • Managing strategy & implementation for professional learning citywide  
  • Oversee a diverse portfolio of NYCPS partnerships, programs, and contracts 
Jazlyn Mena
Director of Instructional Programs and Professional Learning
In her 15-year education career, Jazlyn Mena has focused on delivering high-quality, specialized transdisciplinary instruction that affirms diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. She holds a Master’s in Bilingual Education from City College and is triple certified in bilingual, special education, and school-building leadership. Her commitment to lifelong learning drives her pursuit of a Ph.D. in Innovation in Curriculum and Instruction, specializing in STEAM, at Fordham University.
Jazlyn’s primary focus with DLI is: 
  • Developing strategy & implementation for instructional programs and citywide professional learning
  • Overseeing DLI’s District Points Professional Learning Series
Ramon Newton
Program Evaluation Coordinator
Ramon is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in program evaluation, project management, and data analysis, primarily within the educational sector. His background in evaluation is where he leverages social science methods, collaborates with tech partners, provides IT support, and develops digital programs, including AI integration projects.
Ramon’s primary focus is
